2004 FORD fiesta Speedometer

Hi guys I hope this is the right forum,

Noticed a problem in my fathers 2004 Ford Fiesta Van 1.4 TDCI today. He was complaining that the speedometer wasn't reading properly so I took a look.

When I got in and the ignition was turned off the needle on the speed dial had come to rest well below the 0 MPH mark which is where it normally would.

I removed the face from the the instrument cluster and manually moved the needle to the correct position. After this I turned the ignition off and on again, after repeating this a few times and I noticed that each time the power is turned on to the cluster the pin seems to drop slightly.

Has anyone seen anything like this before or have any idea what I could do to try and get it to home properly again?
