Hi All. The next release of Ubuntu Linux, 11.10/Oneiric Ocelot, is out soon (13th), so here at Ubuntu Ireland (Dublin branch), we're having a release party on Saturday 15th Oct.

Since Ocelots are from central america, we're going for dinner at Cactus Jacks in Dublin. We'll be there from about 5pm, everyone's welcome to come along if you're interested in Ubuntu/Linux, just look for the stuffed Ocelot (it looks like a leopard) and/or Tux Penguin and say hi! We'll probably head to the pub afterwards, check my twitter (http://twitter.com/lalonde) for up to the minute details!

More details: http://loco.ubuntu.com/events/ubuntu-ie/1278/detail/. Could you please register on the link there before thursday so we know how many places to book at the restaurant.

Will that guy I saw a few weeks back in Dun laoghaire Dart station with the big Tux tatoo on his calf be there?

Perhalps there was a Larry the Cow Tatoo there too.
I may have missed it due to not knowing what the hell Gentoo is.....:D

Gentoo is what the hard core use. It is built from source. A superb learning experience but a pain in the face to maintain. I used it for a good while but reverted to ubuntu when my time became too valuable to pee pee away on massaging gentoo to make it auto recognise USB devices and other such nonsense.
