What's the best Super Strat you've played?

    Hi All,

I've been playing for maybe seventeen years. You wouldn't think it to listen to me, but like many on here it's not just playing that fascinates me about guitars. It's their construction, the individual personalities they have, the way they can make you feel great or frustrated... All that.

My first guitar was a Fender Sun Mustang! It has a story attached to it, but I won't go in to it. Next was a Gibson Explorer, which too has a story attached. Then came a Flying V, closely followed by a beautiful Les Paul Custom. By this stage I was in my 20s and working, so the collection started changing wildly from then on.

Recently though, I've had a real interest in Super Strats. Maybe I'm coming to these style of guitars fifteen years too late, but there it is.

What is the best one you've ever played? I have a Fender Vintage Hot Rod 57 re-issue Strat, but that's not a Super Strat.

The best Super Strat I played was a Vigier Excalibur Standard. I almost bought it, and I am so disappointed with myself that I didn't.

I like the thoughts of the Ibanez S Series, but I have a feeling the neck radius on them might be too much for me.

I owned an Ibanez Jem VWH for about a week before selling it on... I never gave it a proper chance, but something about it didn't really work for me.

Also, I played a Jackson Soloist before - neck through Super Strat - which was awesome, but it was a brief encounter!

So, in your opinion, what's the best Super Strat out there?

    Best wishes,

    Tony

Best Superstrat I've ever played was a Suhr Modern, absolutely flawless.

I love my american strat with an active emg81 in the bridge, and to emg s single coils. also has a preamp on the guitar that gives more gain if needed, really makes it rawk!
