oil heating wont come on after summer?

    hi my oil ran out in may and i just left it off untill today when i got oil,
    the clock is working fine but the red reset button on burner is not illuminating at all,
    any ideas before i have to call a heating engineer-i have done this for 15 years with no problems till now

    The oil pump on the burner will need bleeding, check out the search facility on this forum where you'll find loads of threads explaining exactly how to go about bleeding the pump.

    ive already bled it but just cant get it to fire up-the wee button on the front is normally lit up red but ive tried everything and cant seem to get it sorted lol

    Is it running ??? is the red lock out button illuminated ??? Make and model of burner ???

    Have you tried resetting the hi limit stat next to the thermostat ???

    thanx for all your help turned out i needed an engineer-"chinamans hat"-(i now know what it is) had came off and the whole thing had filled with water shorting everything out-im glad i didnt hoke to much ,
    needed a few things replacing and all he charged was £100
    i was well impressed as you shoulda seen what he took out of it lol
