    Hi Folks

I have recently setup freesat on a PC, was able to scan and receive all the proper channels, the BBC and ITV HD channels work perfect but Channel 4 HD is showing a distorted pixilated picture, each scenes seem to morph into the next scene, does this mean my satellite is setup incorrectly? This is the only channel that is affected by this,

    I am based in Dublin,

    whats nhk hd like?

could be the puter processing power isnt enough .

or more likely the alignment is slightly out.

NHK HD is working perfect for me, its just C4 HD, very strange, the PC is well capable of playing HD, is C4 HD at the weak end when it comes to signal strength? its showing full signal strength in MCE the general signal

Yeah, C4HD has weak signal , I get about 53% and the picture distorts sometimes.
I think it's moving to stronger TP sometime in the next few months.

I can live with SD channel 4, I don't want to go messing around with the satellite again, I'm afraid of ruining the other channels,

There was a post on here about C4 HD moving to Astra 1N, will that be in the same position as Astra 2 and if not, will it require another satellite?

Yeah, 1N will be in the same position for the time being.

Channel 4HD is on Eurobird at 28.5 East and most other freesat channels are on Astra 2 at 28.2 East. There is also a difference in the skew required on the lnb for the two satellites. Correct alignment is a compromise between the two satellites both in direction and skew.

Ok, so a small skew of the LNB clockwise (from the point of view of facing the satallite) should in theory fix this issue? or moving the satallite a smidgen east

i have the same problems with C4HD, always put it down to a weak TP.

hopefully the move to a new TP in the coming weeks/months will fix this problem
