Hahaha it looks like a right fcuken hippo!

I thought the market for these kind of motors went bye bye with the Celtic Cnut!

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 26,280 ✭✭✭✭Eric Cartman

what the fcuk is that thing , they could have done so very well with that but no , jaysus it just looks like a pregnant continental, for shame bentley, for shame

they should have took the arnage frontend and ported it to a G wagon and it would have been a million times nicer

    WTF!

The vast ugliness, it beats the Q7 hands down :D

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 6,575 ✭✭✭166man

I thought I was seeing things when I saw it, I mean look at the bloody thing! Weighs about 3 tonnes probably with a V12 petrol engine..

“We will be first to use a 12-cylinder petrol engine in a luxury SUV. I like this idea; it makes clear whose car is the boss,” said Bentley CEO Wolfgang Dürheimer.
It's pretty embarrassing that the CEO of Bentley has never heard of the Lamborghini LM002, no?

Interesting to note Aston Martin and Bentleys differing approaches to ruining a brand.

That picture doesn't look right to me, why are the reflections in the side of the car perfect, but completely lack definition on the front bumper? Are they randomly changing between matte and metallic paint on the body?

The shadow under the car looks wrong to.

    It's just an artists interpretation...

Calm down, everyone, that's just another autocar artist's impression. The car won't be along until 2015.

But what is that picture? A mashup of a Bentley, a Juke and a Murano, maybe?

    oh god.... my eyes...

i was newer a fan of luxury SUVs, but this just makes me to lose all faith in human kind.

Or the Q7 made by a marque of the very same parent company:

Christ, that's two marques owned by the same parent company.

Autocar a famous for making up their own new cars so I wouldn't read much into that for now.

Would they make up a quote too, I wonder? Because, in fairness, that one doesn't sound genuine.

I doubt any car company pays a blind bit of notice to Ireland's economy when signing off on a new design. Do you seriously think the X5, Q7, Escalade, Range Rover etc were developed just because a few Irish property developers got ideas?

    *rable*, *rable*

No one bats an eyelid at a Porsche SUV any more, it will be the same with this monster.

    Only on planet Ireland.

They'll succeed in knocking the Q7 off the Ugliest 'SUV' spot.

Just take it as an indication that the Bentley offering is never intended to go off road while the LM002's primary purpose was off road, even though it was spec'd up.

It's still a very strange 'quote'. 'it makes clear whose car is the boss' is rather undignified language for the CEO of Bentley, I would have thought.

Bentleys customer base is more Premiership Footballer and Gangsta Rapper these days rather than the Landed Gentry and Legal Partners of old. He's simply addressing his customer base, dignity does not come into it.

Looks deadly, I'll have one in chrome please, or gold plated if the old economy recovers quicker than expected.

And look what happened to Hummer! It's just a step too far, I don't like all these new Bentleys of this decade, horrible yokes..

But it suits to the right person.

I have this Hummer parked up in undergound carpark where I live an it really does suit to its owner - short guy with a big muscle (around his waist) and bulldog look-a-like cheeks. They really look well together.

Oh dear God! It looks like a Bentley continental mated with a Nissan Juke.

With a new full size Range Rover on the way in 2013, they are going to have a hard job convincing buyers to pay what will likely be a huge premium over the Range Rover.

Yeah, but we don't know yet what new Range Rover will look like. :D
It feels like there is a tuff competition between premium class car manufacturers of who will create the ugliest suv. Google for Maserati Kubung. With all my love for Maserati I thnk Kubung is the ugliest machine they ever presented.

I'd have thought so too, but the reality is that many Bentley customers these days are far from upper class, to put it mildly :pac:

Maybe Bentley's PR is catering for that? Remember this ad?

I love Bentley, the new Mulsanne is great. That... is not. Just because 90% of Bentley owners have SUV's doesn't mean they'll want to pay presumably triple the price for a bentley one, at least double anyway. Range Rovers are status symbol enough, I don't think people are that bothered about having a Bentley SUV... not in Ireland anyway

Premiership footballers are creaming themselves at the thoughts of owning one.

There just can't be a market for a car like that in a country like this can there? I mean what's it gonna cost 200k plus?
