Hello everyone, I have been looking at 40k for a couple of weeks now, and I think I want to start wargaming, however I hear that GW will be bringing out a new edition of 40k !! My Question is should I wait for that or could I start collecting now ??? Thank you :)

New edition is most likely a year away so you can still start collecting now. If you want to be "future safe" go for Space Marines of some flavour.

This edition's starter set comes with a LOAD more models than usual, so I'd say that you should start now to take advantage of the amount of models you get before the newer edition comes along with it's smaller amount. I remember it being stated before that they'd never bundle so many models with the starter sets again, so there y'go...

Anyway, the most that a new edition rulebook will cost you is 50 or 40 quid. And that's the hardback one.

So say I collect the space marines, will they still be able to battle when the new edition comes out ?

    Absolutely.

Hell, there are models out there from the first, second and third editions that you can still use. They look weird when compared to their up-to-date counterparts, but you can still use them.
