    Hi

I'm almost at the 40 mark and find myself out of work.

I have worked mainly in Construction all along but now the quiet periods are killing me and besides I don't want to work at this when I get a bit older.

I'm beginning to envy ANYBODY who has a steady job even the most menial type ones but after saying that there's a limit to what I'd take on in regards to work. I think the problem is that Ireland is so local and people are so used to being seen in a way that any drastic change to their ' career ' would really cut deep, I suppose you could say I have pride maybe its my downfall.
I can be quite adaptable if needed and am not the typical breakfast roll, yellow jacket, beer swilling stereotype which I'm sure some people would see construction workers as.

I can speak intermediately an Eastern European language and now to do something constructive with my day I am studying German which I am now slowly beginning to get a handle on.

Anyway my point is I am really annoyed at hearing business chiefs announcing that they can't get anyone to work for 20k for example because of dole payments etc. I am registered as self employed and not in receipt of the dole.
I would gladly work for this ball park figure as my own outgoings are modest and I try not to get into debt.

If there is anybody out there with an old school mind who would be willing to offer a guy a chance to maybe fall in with their group/company and retrain at something totally different for a modest wage then give me a shout.
I scrub up well, like to keep up to date with technology etc and can be quite the chameleon when needed.

I don't know if this is a rant or a plea but not doing anything is not an option.

    Regards

    TheSpoof
