Which do you prefer in a TV series, Everything all wrapped up in one neat episode or a start/middle/end spread over the series ?

Do you prefer to have your TV series in a continuous arc or adventure of the week? 11 votes

I much prefer a continuous arc although I've nothing against a series that combines a long arc with a weekly mini-adventure provided there's coherence.

Combination is good, as long as the main arc isn't relegated to a footnote at the end of the episode.

Depends how long the "arc" is, the American obsession with 22 episode series means I can't be arsed as the revelation or resolution could turn out to be pants, but over 12 thats fine. A mix of the two like say Spooks or Life on Mars is the best approach for me.
