Removing bobbles on a cardigan

I bought a new cardigan last week, and the first time I wore it out the sleeve got caught in some velcro, so now there are little bits of pulled thread and bobbles around that area. Does anyone have tips for getting rid of these? I did a quick search on google and got some helpful results, however most people that were asking about this, and most advice was about the bobbling that just occurs after washing clothes a lot, and I'm not sure if the same principles would apply in this situation (e.g. using a razor blade on the cardigan). Any help is appreciated, thanks! :)

(I already tried chancing my arm and returning it, by the way, but they knew what I was up to )

Shaving them off rarely works for me- it might if you had an actual loose razor blade but if you're using a safety razor then it just gets clogged up immediately! What I do is basically shear them with a sharp pair of scissors- hold them as flat as possible to the fabric and run them over it while snipping. I have a lovely angora angora type jumper that needs regular grooming, but I only try to get the very ends of the knots/bobbles in this so I don't lose that fuzzy look.
