Was in Superquinn Sundrive road this evening and their selling Paulaner Oktoberfest 6% for €1 a bottle.

Don't know if all Superquinns are doing this. Were about 4 crates out when I was there. Picked up one.

Edit: From looking at the Superquinn website appears to be in all branches and valid until November. Will probably depend on stock levels though as to how long its available

    Is this the 5.5% weiss-bier??

Haven't seen a 6% one and if it is a different 1 is it as nice as the 5.5 weiss-bier??

I can vouch for the Oktoberfestbier from Paulaner, having tested each Oktoberfestbier over the last 3 weeks! It's not cloudy, more of a lager, but lovely and fresh when thirsty!

Picked up a box of this at the weekend in Superquinn in Finglas.
It's not a weiss-bier more as has been said a lager but still quite nice and for a €1 a bottle can't complain!

What size bottles are these? I've only ever seen Oktoberfest in 500ml bottles

    A little confused

Superquinn web-site has Paulaner 'bottles' available on special for €1. The picture is of a Weiss beer bottle (5.5%).
    http://www.superquinn.ie/shopping/shopping/shop.aspx?prodid=90030135

They also have a Paulaner 'Pilsner' on the web-site which is €2.99. I checked Tyrelstown yesterday and they had plenty of the Paulaner Octoberfest beer (6%) there for €2.99 but had no Weiss beer. There is no picture of the 'Pilsner' on the site but I would assume it refers to the Octoberfest beer.

I ordered 25 bottles of this on-line at the advertised price of €1, it just arrived and they gave me 6 for €12 (times four) and one at €2.99.

This left me with an overcharge of €25.99...

Told the delivery driver on the spot and he stated "I only pick up the stock call the customer services they will refund you", so called them and the lady said yes you have been overcharged and that she would contact the store to get the refund processed.

So fingers crossed that will go without a hitch. (For note I clicked on "no substitutions" during the order process.)

The bottles that arrived were the Paulaner 5.5%. Will update/edit with what happens on the refund.

update: got a call today they are refunding the overcharged amount plus delivery so deal stands at €1 per bottle!

this deal must be finished now?

    None in knocklyn

I see the weiss-bier is now at 2.99 in there.. Wish it was a euro to stock up again.. Apparently they had it for a euro last week in error

I got 25 bottles of the Weiss for €1 a pop as per above post, when I log into the online site tonight it is still there at euro a go with a picture of the Weiss so I'd say go for it, lovely stuff sipping on one now.

thanks for the post. I set-up an online account and ordered it, it's a large amount so don't know if the order will go through properly.

That's good that you got your refund, hopefully Ill get charged the discount price. I stocked up on it when it was in-store at that price a few months back, be great if that works out again.

    Thanks again

Was some time in 2012 on my bottles

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 3,210 ✭✭✭Tazz T

They have them in Ashtown but at 2.99. Won't give me them for a euro. I'm thinking it's only for online ordering.

I went to the trouble of registering yesterday so I could get some delivered. Took me a good ten minutes but there was still some showing up in stock. So imagine my disappointment this morning when I got a phone call from Superquinn telling me they are out of stock everywhere. :(

Had u not paid for them before delivery?. I've paid the €1 a bottle online so I expect that will be the cost provided they have them to deliver.

They charge you just before delivery whatever the price is in the shop. But I'm sure they'll refund the difference as they're still €1 online

Ordered two days ago. Should've be delivered today between 7 and 9 pm. It's 9:21 and I'm still waiting. Thirsty. :pac:

my delivery was booked for 4-6 on friday last and he arrived at 4.01 minus the fifty bottles I had ordered! Signed up just for that and wont be using again. They even charge you if you want to pickup the shopping yourself!

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 281 ✭✭AlkalineAcid

Order not received. I only ordered 35 bottles, nothing else. I thought of putting milk or something else essential down but worried they would bring a single bottle of milk and charge me anyway for delivery. An email or phone call to say they're not delivering at all would've been nice.

Doubt you'll get any if Superquinn are ringing people up saying they're out of stock.

I've sent an email to them seeking clarification on this very important issue. I'll let you know the outcome.

Superquinn are a brutal shower to deal with. I was in the Walkinstown branch the other day. I was looking for a French wine I'd been given a present of and was wondering if they stocked it. Their wine "expert" was stocking the shelves, she loves herself, full of self importance. So I asked her did she have blah blah blah from the blah blah region of France. Her reply ? "No". Not "No sorry" or "no but we have such and such from that area". No manners.

I made my order friday for delivery sat night. Did not arrive. Called into SQ Ballinteer sunday but the 'internet manager' was not there. Told I would receive a call monday. No call. Assume they have no beer left?. V disappointing to not even get a call, was so looking forward to last sat nite.

    Dont talk to me !

I live in Meath. I registered online and it confirmed my address was within their deliveries. On Saturday, I ordered 30 bottles of the Weiss for €1 for delivery on Monday. Received a call on Monday morning to tell me they don't deliver to my address (your site told me you do !).

Reordered to deliver to my parents house in Dublin for today, same amount. Got a call this morning to say they are 'out of stock'.:mad:

Just checked the site and the €1 a bottle offer is now gone but you can order as many as you like for €2.69 a bottle !!! Out of stock me a**e :mad::mad:

The offer was originally down as valid till November 1st !!!

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 3,210 ✭✭✭Tazz T

Yeah, I got a call to say it was limited stock only, it's run out and they've taken the offer down (even thou it said it was to last to November). Poor effort by Superquinn.

    delivery due betwenn 10.30-12.30 today...

put order through last thursday night/friday morning

got a call/voicemail at 9.30 rhis morning saying that they were out of stock and i wont be getting the delivery.

like a few on here i only joined the website for this offer, and now robbed of this deal.

bad form by them even if it was a cock-up in price they should still honour it..

    really annoyed about it

If you're waiting for the paulaner you can get Franziskaner which is similair(and in my opinion nicer) in SuperValu(Oranmore) 5 for €9 or O Briens 6 for €10
