More than one way to skin a cat, calculation help

    So, I need a bit of help regarding a calculation.

    a/(tvx)

    Where "a" is a numbers I gain from a test, t=time, v=volume and x=a reading from a test. Now lets say that I plug the numbers from my test in and I get a value in AU/ml. So far so good.

    Now, lets say x=.5 (measured from my test) and that 1x = 2.3*10^8 cells and I wish to work out a value of AU per 10^6 cells. This is how I would do it,

    .5*2.3*10^8 = 115 000 000

    Then sub in the above value for x in the original equation, adjust the result to be per 10^6 cells. Job done.

    However, someone said to me that their an another way to do this calculation, but for the life of me, I can't see another way. Any help?
