replace a catalytic converter

    hi all is it easy too replace a catalytic converter in a car? its a bolt on with gaskets cat the car is a 2006 seat cordoba

    If you can safely get under the car/get access to it and have some basic tools then it's surely not a bad job. A simple bolt in car shouldn't take very long

    Have you diagnosed for sure that the cat is gone? And more importantly, what caused the cat to go on such a new car?

    Hi Nissan doctor was told by nct centre it was gone when i took off the lamba sensors they were black and had too be replace then put it in nct again and it fail emmisions

    It may well be gone now, but what I'm saying is that a cat on a perfectly functioning 5-6 year old car will not fail. Something else is wrong which has caused the cat to fail. You need to have the problem diagnosed properly (lamda readings, cat function, afm/map readings etc) otherwise you will likely end up damaging your new cat too.

    just had a friend of my brothers look at it seems the seal is gone on the bottom of the cat and 3 bolts are missing that hold the cat in place
