    I know its vag but have you got make,model,year,engine type/code etc...?

    sorry its a VW Golf GTI 1.8t AUM, as far as I know they are in most the 99-05 petrol vag cars

    Looks like your p-steering reservoir....?

    Its your carbon cannister, evap cannister.
    as far as I remember the valve comes with the whole unit only.

    The part number is in your picture looks like 1KG 201 801D

    Not my picture, its the Evap emission control system alright.
    I don't want to buy the whole unit though, just the pipe which I'm sure must be available separately as it clips off easily and is a common problem which causes cylinder2 misfires.
    according to some uk forums its available for £8stg but no one mentions a part number :(

    Should be stamped in white writing on the pipe.

    Going by etka the tube your after is part no 1j0 201 160 d which no 6 in the diagram...:)
