anybody notice the overgrown hedges, grass ,old tyres etc and just the general unkept nature of the m1 from around the airport to the toll bridge yet all the way to dundalk everything is trimmed tidy etc
looks as if there is no upkeep at all by dublin county council ,NRA ???

Regularly see maintenance crews in the Louth section of the M1. Not surprising the Dublin side is how it is. Someone People need a kick up the hole in Dublin CC.

I know that Fingal CoCo have this policy akin to "Wild Meadows" where some estate greens and roundabouts or only cut once or twice a year and allowed grow wild in between. To me it's unsightly and just a crude stunt to save money in the guise of a half-baked environmental initiative. I don't know if this policy has extended to motorway verges, but to be honest, it would not surprise me in the least if it did.

As a keen cyclist, I see the difference in road quality between North County Dublin and Meath. Certainly, Fingal are more interested in providing zoned lands and other things to facilitate the needs of developers ahead of proving the its residents with decent roads and associated maintenance programmes.

You're fairly disillusioned if you think it's just Dublin CC that need a kick up the hole. Lets not forget that it takes 7 of them to look down a hole they made, all day, for 2 weeks before closing it up again. :pac:
