    Hi,

Couldnt find any info on this anywhere, what is the average hourly wage for a pool lifeguard in ireland? Obviously it varies from place to place, is it minimum wage?

    Thanks

    Minimum wage in most places.
some public/corperation pools pay above the minimum wage
but the pay is not great for someone tasked with saving your life if you start to drown!!:)

Ha, that's because to the club that's your secondary duty! Primary duty is to clean the place & do all the **** jobs! It's mental!

    Well said lads

don't forget to mention doing swimming lessons as part of your lifeguarding hours (for the same wage...) in some places. I say we should make a protest or something, minimum wage for the amount of responsibility you take is insulting. Lets go and block NAC or something ;) or simply don't show up to work at 6am to open up... if you are the only lifeguard in a radius of 20 miles they are screwed ;) (only problem is you will be screwed shortly after so don't try it at home) I'm so glad I'm not doing this any more ;)

usually 10euro an hour, some pools pay more, not bad considering the minimum wage, teaching rates are a lot better though

why accept a job if youre not happy with the wages from the outset?
