Self employed - tax info

I'm self employed and my earnings are a pretty straight forward amount with no tax-deductable expenses.

The last time I filled out my taxes was 2009 (haven't been working since then, until this year), and from what I recall, it was as simple as using the 'Revenue Online Service' java application, and sending that in.

Has anything important changed in the last few years that I should be aware of? Is the online tax return stuff still available? Will my login for that from 2009 still be valid?

    Thanks.

I'm trying to login to the ROS website, but I'm getting the error code:
    BAS100

Anyone know what this error code is? Will call them tomorrow to figure it out, just wondering if anyone knows offhand.

Also, I paid preliminary tax for 2010 in my 2009 statement, but was not earning in 2010 so did not file again. Can I reclaim the preliminary tax in this years statement?

Regardless of whether you worked or not in 2010, you are still obliged to make a return. You still have time. You must have the 2010 return in by end of this month or by mid-November if you do it by ROS.
