Removing/Fixing folding stock on VFC AKS 74

    Hey folks,

    The issue:
I recently picked up a vfc AKS 74 (side folding stock) and though it's an awesome aeg, there is a little bit of wobble in the folding stock when it's locked in the closed/full position.

It seems to be because the pin that combines the stock and the stock hinge in the receiver is ever so slightly smaller than the hole in the stock and receiver stock hing, allowing a little bit of play in the hinge that manifests as fecking stock wobble!

I'm being nit picky about this - but it's my pet hate - so I'm trying to come up with ways to sort it.

    Now - the question:
Is it a simple matter of pushing out the pin in the hinge or is it secured in some other way? i.e. - can I just use something the right size to hammer the pin out so that I can either put some tape inside the hinge on the stock or perhaps even replace the stock (I have an identical spare LCT stock)?

I'm slow to try this without knowing if it'll work first - I've spent forever looking for one of these and the last thing I want to do is make a mess of the one I finally found because of something that's not really a performance issue.

Cheers folks and thanks for your help.
    Kev

Perhaps test the pin idea on the spare LCT stock, so that you're not yet risking the VFC? That way you get a rough idea of the job, and can carry it out more effectively (and with less worry/panic - let's face it, we've all had the moment where the tiniest part flies out, and before it hits the ground opens up a planetary vortex, disappearing forever into the realms of nothingness).

If you could, I'd measure the pin and just get one slightly bigger, and use that to hammer out the other one, whilst hammering in the new pin. But just for the record; not a fan of AK's, don't own any, and have never had hands on contact with the VFC AK so do not know if that pin is secured by any other means

just a simple stepped pin holding the stock, will only come out one way, i normally just use a multi head screwdriver with an alan key head in it so you have a flat surface with a pin hammer and knock it out, only friction and gravity holding it in so should not take much

Cheers for that Kev/Puding. I'm going to give this a shot tomorrrow - I think it might even be an easier case than replacing the stock - I reckon replacing the pin will do the trick.
