To parents out there, with kids at secondary schools, could you please recommend any of the schools in Galway city area?

    Thanks!

You should go visit the schools yourself and make your own judgement.

In fairness, very very VERY few parents or students will have experience of many different schools (and if they have, you'd want to ask why they have).

All schools will have good and bad points and by far the biggest factor influencing how a child will do is the home environment.

Close To where you live would be my 1st choice...when they old and responsible enough they can make there own way home, handy for doing after school sports etc

I have been to the schools but it is difficult to form an opinion with a visit. What I'm after is parents/students opinions of the schools, if they are happy overall or if there's something I should be aware of, i.e bullying? or lack of motivation from the teacher's side etc..

Reading other posts I bumped into one about Endas and I'm quite happy with what I'm reading.

There is bullying in all schools. Beware of any school that says they have none.
Ask them what they do about it when it happens and ask to see the policy. Most schools have their anti-bullying policy on their website.

I have a friend at Enda's... he moved to Galway when he finished Primary and said he loved the school... Apparently the teachers are lovely... There is a faboulous range of subjects and the school community (in his year anyway) where excellent... he just graduated a year ago.. soo... ya... he'd recommend it anyway! :)
