Mary Davis in trouble again!

The Sunday Times (England) is running an article this morning stating that Mary Davis allegedly had questionable dealings with one Denis O'Brian.

Her presidential campaign apparently has received funding from him. The Times is stating that she voted on three key decisions concerning his ownership of Irish media while she was on the board of the Broadcasting Commission of Ireland (BCI) in 2008 and 2009.

The paper raises a number of things, one of which is that took part in a meeting which decided that O’Brien’s 25% stake in Independent News & Media (INM) did not raise any cross-media ownership issues or represent a “substantial” interest in relation to ownership of the media. Apparently Davis took part in a decision to award Boxer DTT, a consortium 50% owned by O’Brien, the first licence for commercial digital terrestrial television in Ireland.

Davis, who allegedly attended O’Brien’s 50th birthday party in April 2008, also took part in a July 2009 meeting of the BCI which investigated whether the billionaire had an “undue” share of the media market in Ireland. Following a three-month probe, the board which she was on investigating her possible friend, ruled that O’Brien’s interests did not breach its ownership policy!
    A surprise?

The ruling was criticised the Times reports, by several media commentators, one of whom accused the BCI of “playing dead” while O’Brien acquired an increasing share of the media!

Davis confirmed she took part in decisions affecting O’Brien’s companies in 2008 and 2009 but declined to say if she had backed O’Brien at board meetings. Well no surprise there if she did - she's not going to willingly get herself into trouble!
Apparently O’Brien was also involved with the Special Olympics World Games in April 2004 but remains chairman of the Special Olympics Ireland Council of Patrons. Davis also continues to serve on the Council of Patrons - the two still cosy!

It seems that more is emerging about her past and supposedly there is questions to be asked further about her dealings in the past which might effect her chances (however slim) of becoming president!
It remains to be seen if the rest of the Irish press will follow up on this story!
I guess the Times has taken a break then from attacking Norris - their work, they must have judged, has been done enough there for the moment.
    Now its Davis's turn!

    I think you'll find it's Adobe® Photoshop®. :D

I take it that's what she used for her posters at least.
