One for all remote control

    I don't know if this is the right forum for this query, but I was in pcworld today looking for a replacement remote for a Hisense tv. I have an older model one for all remote control that won't work for the tv, so when I came across a new version (http://www.play.com/Electronics/Electronics/-/3104/2371/-/17847091/One-For-All-URC7110-Universal-Remote-Control-for-TV/Product.html) I took it to the counter and the conversation went something like this.

    Me: I have an older version of this remote that won't work with my tv. This specifies on the box that it's guaranteed to work with any tv, if it doesn't work can I bring it back and get a refund?

    Cashier: (after speaking to another member of staff) No, you can't get a refund if the package has been opened.

    I was so flabbergasted that I just walked away and left the remote on the shelf!!

    Anyway I'm still back at square one without a remote, can anyone recommend a remote that I could use? The model number is LCD2633EU.

    Did you try the step by step method that most tv remotes have, it lets you go through all codes and you try switching off the tv on each one.
