AE86 best engine??

    what would be the best engine to drop into an AE86? thinking 20v supercharged, but are the 20v engines weak? or 16v supercharged? :)

    SR20DET is proven and tested, running in nearly every AE86 drift car

    Darren D-Mac Mcnamara is running a 13b rotary, more than enough build threads/etc on it

    Define "best"?

    In terms of ultimate power, a supercharged LS1. For a screaming 4 pot, a Millington Diamond. For ease of fitting, get the original engine rebuilt. All engine swaps can have their own gearbox/clutch/pipework/wiring (delete as appropriate) problems.

    I'd recommend checking out the owners club.

    The 'best' engine depends on what you want to do with the car, drifting, road, track, drag etc etc...
