cassette tapes and mp3

How much space would a 30 mins cassette tape, narration not music, take up as an mp3?

Is there any way to restore something that was reecorded on a cassette tape and then deleted by holding down record and being silent. In other words restore the silent part.

I am not sure if this should be here or in the music section. Please move if appropriate. Thanks

Maybe about 20 - 30 MB depending on what bitrate you wanted it at. Higher the bitrate the highter the quality.

So the original recording has been over-written with silence? Not sure that that part could be recoverable. May be very faint. If you wanted to convert it to an mp3 and load it up in to a program called Audacity you could see if there was any noise and boost it.
