    Hi,
I'm on upc but the remote is so unresponsive (I've tried all the masking tape ideas) and the interface so sh1t.
Is it possible to use a 3rd party digibox on my upc line to work around this?
    Will it work?
    Thanks a mill, Mickey.

    No. You can't.

    It's even illegal with Cable.

Complain to UPC or cancel and have Freesat HD + Saorview (more choice of equipment and no subscription).

I don't mind if it's illegal to be honest. I pay for their service so my concience is clear.
I'm just wondering if I would be able to receive channels through another box?

    Regards.

Universal remote, move the box from the Tele its ir interference. Point the camera of your phone at the Tele and you can see some if the scope of the interference.

But we do mind here. You can't discuss anything illegal.

UPC Netherlands does offer a CAM module which allows you to use iDTVs with DVB-C tuners. No sign of it coming to Ireland anytime soon and I'm not sure how many TVs in the Irish market have DVB-C tuners anyway. (Are there any?).

Since we only rent the boxes can we make UPC replace a faulty one?

Do you know does Upc's hd box and remote have the same issue with the tv signal interference?

    update:
I upgraded to the hd+ upc box (€5 extra p/m) and the new remote and box work perfectly. No ir interference from the tv. It truly is a joy to behold. init.
That's with a Sony bravia tv.
