    Hello,

The headunit died last night while on a long drive.
Its a Sony one and for anyone who doesnt know they beep when you switch the ignition off.

I switched the radio off during the journey, then about 20 mins later I heard the beep.

The radio will not switch on now, however the CD player does make a noise when you plug the power connecters back in.

The radio does work, Halfords plugged it in for me. A second radio which I bought there and then has the same problem, Halfords gave me a refund as they knew what I was upta and just let me at it. (Nice service)

The fuse (42) is fine. I do not know of any other fuses that are radio related in the Mark 4 Golf.

I gather there are two power lines going into a radio.
    1) Memory power (incl. the CD player hence the noise I hear)
    2) "Turn on" radio power (everything).

No. 2 is broken it seems.
Is there are fuse attached to that or was that no.42?
The connections seem fine. Nothing loose, I can move em around a bit but nothing seems disconnected.

No multimeter so I guess I am just looking for advice/consensus confirmation of where I need to look.

    Thanks guys and gals!
    bbk
