    Hi there

Not the worst problem in the world, but my remote for my UPC box seems to be banjaxed. Was watching the rugby this morning and when I tried to change channels after it ended, it wouldn't work. Nor will the volume.

It's not the batteries as I changed them. Every time I press a button on the remote, the UPC button on the remote flashes red twice.

Rang UPC, they said they would send a reboot signal.

It didn't work so they said they will send me out a new remote at a cost of €25. No way am I paying that - I have only had the remote for three months.

I have turned the box off and on again and the button on the UPC box doesn't go green, it just goes to red and eventually the time comes up.

Anyone have any ideas? I was hoping to watch the rugby tomorrow morning but that is looking very doubtful now.

    Thanks in advance.

Crisis averted. I can use the buttons on the box to view channels.

I called UPC again and spoke to a lovely man that told me to try that and it worked. He is also sending me out a new remote and said there is NO charge as the remote is faulty. Bloody hell.

So there you have it, if your remote fails and UPC say you have to pay for a new one - refuse.:)
