I'm putting this post up to see if any one would like to claim their lost iphone.
Between the hours of midnight on wednesday night (Oct. 5th) and about 12:30 on thursday (Oct. 6th) morning, I was walking along the lengthy car park which runs parallel to education house, rowan house and auxilia house when i noticed an iphone lying on the ground with an illuminated screen. A call was coming through to the phone which i answered but unfortunately all that could be heard was background noise and no one was speaking to me from the other end.

The Iphone in question looks to be an earlier model such as the 3g or 3gs.

I have been waiting over the past couple of days for the owner of the phone to make contact with me through it but sadly to no avail.
It is my hope that someone on this site might be able to help me track the owner.

Maby you could look at the messages and text someone from it, or call their mum or dad. There number should be in it!

I can't do that, i'm afraid. Access to any of the phone's facilities, apps etc... are barred until the correct pass code is in-putted.

All i've to go on is that somebody called Sophia was ringing the phone when i picked it up initially.

fair play to you man for trying to look for the owner. if it was jailbroken you could by pass the lock code.

Maby if you put the sim in your phone something might be saved onto it?

Ask MaynoothSU to say it on their fb page, and hopefully it'll be noticed by the right people :) Fair play to you trying to get it back to the owner :)

Bring it to an apple store, afaik they can check if it's registered to anyone

Also, thanks for being a decent person!

Have you got itunes installed at home?

If so, connect the phone, wait for it to appear in iTunes, right click choose backup and you can then extract the SMS messages, call logs etc from the backup file.

here are some details. And here are some more. unregistered version limits the app to two extractions, that should be enough.

    hi, TO_ARTHUR!
my friend brought me here as i lost my i-phone 3g on Wednesday of last week around that area. I rang it several times that night and someone had turned it off. In order to prove it is mine my screensaver was two little girls (me and my friend) one in a communion dress. I have a passcode on it so you mightnt be able to check the screensaver now, but just to see if you can remember before you turned off my phone! It had no cover on it also, if that helps. Was wondering how i could get it back? thank you so much for looking after it!
