BTEI Course + SW

Hi there

Is there any reason why the Social Welfare would not allow you to do a BTEI course? I've been offered a place on one, last minute, and have applied to SW (for permission !!). Just wondering is there any reason why they would not allow me. Its part time.

I presume you mean BTEA. It has to be a course above a level that you have already attained. A Masters is not covered but a H.Dip is. If you want to do a masters you should check out Springboard as they have some Master programmes. If its part time and you are approved you will not qualify for the book allowance of €500. Book allowance is only applicable to people on full time courses.

Ok.. are you receiving a sw payment at present and for how long? What is your level of education to date? You can pm me if you do not want to reply to these questions on an open forum.
