Engineer Problem

    Hi All,

Over the past few weeks, i have been talking to builders and engineers for an extension on my house. All have given free quotes until i decide to do business with them.

One engineer came out, never mentioned anything about payment, brought a builder with him, he says did work for me for 4 or 5 hours, gave me 1 quote for an extension and expects payment of close to 500euro. No agreement was made for payment as if there was i would have gone to a different engineer. He was getting fairly aggressive toward me and he hinted that he will threaten to sue me.

Does he have any leg to stand on or is just trying to bully me into paying him?

Im new to this so worried a bit at the moment.

You're seeking legal advice, which is against the charter, and Boards.ie rules. What I'd suggest is to get legal representation although I seriously doubt he will carry through with his threat to sue, as imo* he doesn't have a leg to stand on as they were was no financial measures discussed or implied before the meeting.

    * just my opinion and I could be totally wrong.

As Quazzie said we can't give legal advice here, please go to a solicitor.
