BMW Specialist?

    Hi lads,
I need a couple of things done to my car (320D) before I sell it on. The DTC traction control feature in the car is gone and it's showing error lights up on the computer. I've been told that this will cost about €1200 to replace and I've no notion of doing so as the car is a 06 and it's an unnecessary extra feature in the car that was there when I bought it. Alternatively I'd just prefer to have the DTC unit removed from the car to get rid of the error lights. I also need a headlight washer cover replaced (and paint matched). Can anyone recommend a garage/BMW specialist that will do these without charging an arm and a leg for it? Cheers!

Conlan's on the Ballysimon Road are the BMW main dealers in Limerick. I've found them to be very helpful myself.

The DTC system is not an extra feature, it is part of the ABS brake system and standard on the car. Afaik you cannot just disable it without disabling the ABS system which would have both safety and insurance implications.

The ABS/DTC system module is a very common failure in this model but BMW may cover some of the costs if the car has a BMW service history. Hard to know if they will cover a 06 model though. Failing that it is possible to buy a reconditioned or second hand module for a fraction of the price of a new part.

+1 for recommending Clondrinagh Motor Centre. They know their BMWs and I get mine serviced there.

Clondrinagh and Alpina are the best options in Limerick city.

I've used Ben O'Brien out in Newmarket on Fergus on my bm's and he's always been v. helpful!

Heard good things about Clondrinagh and the Alpina Place on the Dock Road.

If you want to venture outside the town Kieran O Meara in Newport is also very good with BMW's and very reasonable.
