Is it possible to buy a "monthly" commuter ticket halfway through the calendar month?
    E.g from the 9th Oct- 9th November?

I'm thinking specifically of the Sallins to Heuston route including feeder service.
    Many Thanks

I think Irish Rail tickets are from the first of the month. However, there are other tickets, e.g. weekly.

See "Seasonal Time based Tickets" here: http://irishrail.ie/your_ticket/ticket_types.asp

It's a bit of a pain tbh. The cabin in Sallins is only open very early in the morning.
Therefore if you don't have to be in Heuston before 12 on a Monday you can't avail of the discount :(

You can pre-purchase the ticket at any station. Just let them know the stations and the dates.

    Really? Awesome.
I'd love if they would alert the public to it via signage/speech etc. Oh well :P What more can you expect from a station with scrap metal shelters with holes in them...

:) Cheers anyway for the help!

I haven't bought an Iriish Rail ticket in a while but when I did last, you could buy a February ticket from 16th January to 15th February and so on for other months.
