    Hi folks,
Can anyone recommend a company who provide backpackers travel insurance.

We're hitting SE Asia for 3 months, mid 20's couple.

There's loads of companies out there, I just don't know which to choose. I don't mind paying a premium to a company who will actually pull through in the vent of us needing them.

I would be looking for a company that I can bill directly should we need medical attention (rather than paying and claiming back) - Should we need medical attention I don't want to have to be forking out money on the spot.

    Many thanks

World Nomads are very good and you can just take a policy for the amount of time you are travelling. Luckily enough I never had to claim but they do have a good reputation

These would be the main players. Travel insurance is a bit complex, so check the cover options carefully. Prices are usually fairly standard, but check what the options are for cancellation and medical expenses. Some of them offer a discount if you're a VHI/Quinn member.

InsureandGo are underwriting their own insurance, so you're essentially going direct, whereas the other two are brokers or middlemen.
