US Citizen Dana Cannot Remember Oath of Allegiance

    Independent Presidential candidate and Claregalway resident Dana says she never mentioned she became a US citizen prior to the 1997 presidential election because she 'didn't think it would be a problem'.
    People becoming naturalised US citizens take an oath renouncing their allegiance to all other states.
    However Ms Scallon says she cannot remember taking this oath - and points out that she has dual citizenship.

    Here is the Oath she took.
    I hereby declare, on oath, that I absolutely and entirely renounce and abjure all allegiance and fidelity to any foreign prince, potentate, state, or sovereignty of whom or which I have heretofore been a subject or citizen;
