I'm thinking of switching from Chorus/UPC MMDS to Sky.
I know UPC request written notice of cancellation a month in advance.

In sequential order, what steps do i take so that the transition is as smooth as possible and i'm not left without multichannel for too long?

There may be an issue with trees interupting with the signal to the dish.I won't know for sure til the Sky lads check it out.I don't want to have cancelled my UPC subscription and find out that Sky isn't an option for me.

Contact a local installer and explain this to him get him round to do a signal test, and if successful get him to order your viewing cards which will come to you in the post usually within 5-7 working days as they come from Scotland. Then wait off a week or so to get the install done therefore you will never lose any tv viewing, and your sky subscription will not become active until the cards have been switched on.
