Thinking of setting up the Turbo for this as I'm house bound for most of the weekend.

Any other rugby fans going that route?

True dedication Red, I will be setting the sky+ myself and turning off the phone! Will watch it around 8, although Mrs C can't sleep well these days so if shes up at 6 she makes sure I am as well

    No idea what this means.

But I will be up before 5am to watch live F1 Qualifying from Suzuka. Have no interest in the rugby whatsoever.

    Haha. Good woman. :D

Does she 'aaccidently' walk into the door on her way to the bathroom then scream in agony. "Oh whoops, did I wake you? Sorry" :)

Not a chance I'll be up at 6am to watch it, it'll be sky+ - insomnia attacks died down just on time for the RWC so I've missed most of the matches.

3 things give me the impression your in the wrong forum.

    1. You've no idea what a turbo session is.
    2. You don't like rugby.
    3. You like F1

All of which leads me to believe you saw the word "turbo" and thought that it meant some other tools were talking about cars as well.

No just lights on as soon as she is awake for reading or tv and extreme moaning out loud about lack of sleep.

Her girls nights out are worse, while I am taking off the clothes in the other room and fumbling around in the dark for the bed in fear of my life of waking her. She will walk straight in with the high heels clopping, lights on, bathroom expeller on for make up removal (only done if relatively sober). If sober it is a few minutes of reading Hello magazine or tv, if tipsy its straight to snoring

    Diligent.

I'll be tucking into a big fry with a ragtag mix of punters at chez Izoard, screaming at Dorce, Drico and the rest of the Leinster Irish lads....

No real rugby fan would be able to sit on a turbo for this one. Yes I have done turbos watching Irish Rugby matches. For this one however I fully expect to be peeled off the ceiling minus my finger nails, eye brows and side burns, and thats just at half time. If I make it to the final whistle conscious I will hopefully be hugging and kissing the TV. All in all way too much injury risk involved to be on the turbo. That and as Izoard alluded to, I'll have a belly full of saugages and rashers and tea :DCOME ON IRELAND!!!

Agreed no rugby fan would sit on a turbo for this.

however I would go further and say that no triathlete that isn't out to waste time would sit watching any game. Tenner says junk session.

A stationary cycling workout which a standard bike is put onto a device that simulates the effects of a rolling road.

Can be a fun way to break up a turbo though. Max effort from when ROG places the ball to when he kicks it - extra 20 secs if he misses :D

Provided thats what is done :) Sounds fun actually. i know one lad who swears the rocky films are built for turbos and are better than spinervals.

    Most just sit and spin.

Jaysus lads, just watch the game and train afterwards!

My son has swimming at 6 a.m., so I guess I can drop him off and then make it home by 6.15. I don't have a TT, so I guess I'll just have to slob out while watching. After it's over I'll have time to throw the bike in the car, drive back to the pool and go for a 2 hour ride before my son is finished his session!

I used to feel sorry for all those swimmers and their parents who used to get up at 5! Now I'm one of them.

    How did that happen?

Anyway, go on you boys in Green!

Count yourself lucky you don't live in the states, was talking to my sister who has two daughters that are promising swimmers. Not only does she have a 5am start every morning to bring them over to the pool, in their club the parent is expected to have to stay there while the training is going on.

Whilst she is getting plenty of reading in, its breaking her spirit physically, mentally and socially. She has had three years of it now and I think she has had enough except for the little brats * are so good at it.

    * Her words not mine :D

We have a parents' roster. Each parent only has to do one session in about 20.

Seems a bit more sensible than having 20 (or whatever) parents there every morning.

Can you get in and swim? (albeit in a different lane)

    Dave - planning ahead.

All lanes are occupied fully. I'm not very fast. I'd just get in the way.
