I want to get some information. i was living in the United Kingdom since 2002 and paying national insurance there. I stopped paying national insurance on the 31/03/11

I was paying self employed stamps. I want to find out how do I pay a voluntary payment now and how the 6% is calculated. Is this based on my tax return for the period 01/04/10- 31/03/11 (this is the tax period that they work with in the UK which is different to the
01st Jan to 31st Dec) I also had a temp job in New Zealand from April 11 until June 11 and therefore want to know does this count in Ireland. i am working since 30/09/11 in Ireland one day a week.

In Addition my husband stopped paying national insurance on the 26/08/10 and we want to pay to fill up the gaps in his contribution history the difference in this is that he was PAYE in the UK. He worked in a Temp job in He commenced working on the 12/09/11 in Ireland

Can you advise us on how much supplimentary we would need to pay for the periods we have gaps in our employment. and how it is calcualted before we commit to signing up to pay the additional.

    thanks in Advance
