Trying to do something for charity

Okay, hope this isn't too long as I'm writing when tired

    Cliff notes:
2 free tickets to a €225 poker event for whoever gets the most unique facebook profiles commenting on the page with said persons name. I want the free ticket to play and if I cash all money goes to charity. Link is below

    Story:
I have just been informed that there is a free ticket to something called the IPO(Irish Poker Open). So BoyleSports have decided to give 2 tickets to the 2 people who have people comment on their page with the person who recommended them. Competition started Wednesday and it stops on the 10th(no exact timeyet) so I still have 3 days to gather as many as possible. I really would like to play this and if I cash donate ALL the money to charity.
I have been playing for years and have stats and stuff if people want proof of skill.

I have done charity events before but nothing major, shaved me year long beard, ran a poker tournament in cork and run quizzes etc, but I see this as a great opportunity to make money for charity!
I just think if there is a free ticket then a charity deserves the chance of more money than anyone else. I would prefer to donate to an Irish charity and if I do get enough votes I will put up a poll with charities and whichever gets the most votes get the money(if there is any), unless it is close and it will be shared.

If this is against boards policy or people think it is a horrible idea I apologise, just a 2am thought that I personally think is a good one.

p.s. I will sign a contract before the event just to ensure everyone all money goes to charity :)
    Thank you guys and gals

sorry, I knew I'd make mistakes when I was this tired. Competition started Wednesday and it stops on the 10th(no time given yet) so I still have 3 days to gather as many as possible

my only problem is that I'm not sure if gambling for charity is the best promotion - but since it is a free ticket I think it is better for a charity to have a chance rather than some person keeping it for themself

    will edit orig post

An "L" in your name and it would have been perfect

like how do we know you're going to win, even have a chance

Well there is absolutely no way of knowing I am going to win any money, but all you have to do is post "Michael Douglas" on the link and the charity has a chance to win up to €50,000(last years winner).
The head of BoyleSports knows me and can confirm I will donate 100% to charity once he wakes in the morning

I have had minor cashes in live events before, and have many many graphs of online accounts I could show(which are literally mediocre/just above average). I just think it is a great opportunity to make a lot of money for charity. I might not cash and I will be disappointed, I just don't see why I don't take a chance in trying to make money for a charity in Ireland

    Opinions appreciated

If I register as a charity can I have the money?

most of the poker people are on a different site so I'm going to talk to all of them on there. Just figured I'd go to somewhere popular and see if they wouldn't mind writing my name on a facebook page to help out charity is all

    cheers though

Dry up will ya. You're asking people to help you win a competition.

fair point, my rebuttal - I make 0 money out of this, whether I cash or not and I'm paying for travel and accom from my own pocket

No I really will, I know Ciaran Corbett who is very very high up in the company who is sponsoring it and he can 100% vouch I won't keep any of the money. I will even sign a contract no problem at all

Just REALLY hope I do cash now if I get the ticket

I dont know ciaran corbett at all bud.
I have to send 20 to my mate who is doing a charity competition for DSI aswell so will see what happens.
Honestly, if you are legitimate (and you can understand why people might think your not ) I wish you the best of luck in it.

One of my other friends walked from waterford to navan a few years back to raise money for a child who couldnt walk and wanted to have an operation in america to see if it could help.
They have the video up on yourtube of the child walking now, long way t go but its so nice seeing her getting well. I would post the vid but I would rather ask if it was allowed.

such a lovely thing to see.
