Calculating Blocks required

    Hey,Could someone tell me whats the easiest way in working out how many concrete blocks are required for a new Build, the house is a story and a half 1600sq.I am in the process of planning at present which is almost complete had to pass further information to the council on the site entrance.

    There are 9.88 blocks per m2 of 100mm thick solid walling
    There are 19.76 blocks per m2 of 215mm thick solid walling (100mm blks laid on the flat)

    9.88 blocks per m2 for 100mm solids

    but its 20.22 blocks per m2 for 215mm block on flat. I dont know where the 17.76 is from but thinks its an error
