XPS15 with 24" Monitor

I bought this 24" monitor on Amazon for my XPS15. The XPS has a resolution of 1600x900 and the monitor is 1920x1080.

Its connected with HDMI, but the screen is too big for the monitor on 1920x1080 mode. I can resize the screen through the nvidia control panel alright to 1824x1026 to fix the monitor.

Is there any way at all to view it in full 1920x1080 mode??

    thanks

Think it may be due to this bloody optimus Nvidia card, it uses hd graphics for widows and switches to the nvidia card with applications. Wish I could turn it on all the time

Might be worth trying to adjust the monitor using the built-in onscreen menu.
This sounds like the common HDMI overscan problem, where the graphics card delegates scanning to the monitor.

I can't see an obvious disable scan option so can you try..
    (menu\setup and reset\ PC mode)
    and
(Menu \ Size and position\ image size)

    Thanks, will try that.

I've somehow managed to fix it. I've no idea how I did it, but looks perfect now. Thanks for the help.
