Sisters thinking of buying the HP 635 Notebook and was given a price of €370 She doesnt need it for anything fancy, just photos and facebook. Is it worth the price or would she be better getting a cheaper Notebook?

My personal opinion? For that budget you could get something much better from saveonlaptops.co.uk ...the specs on that are quite poor tbh...Maybe someone can weigh in and correct me but IMHO thats a poor laptop for that price

Same laptop on there is 375 without delivery...

I'd be looking at this too: https://www.saveonlaptops.co.uk/ASUS_K53U-SX107V_1102604.html

Those processors/graphics combinations are interesting. They've gotten good reviews. I'd be tempted to get something similar myself.

Yeh, this is where im stuck. Reviews seem decent but shes "panic" shoppin so i told her to wait. This notebook is purely to save her iPhone battery and to nosey/upload pics to facebook :D to be honest. The lad in Harvey Ns is doin his sales talk on her. Its selling for €430 or so, so he's sayin he'll sell it to her for €370, with a "free trial" of an antivirus (shes no idea which one) for a month and €20 after. This means nothing to be honest as shes no idea which one and he knows she'll pay anyway.

Told her to go back and ask for €360 with an antivirus for free and see what he says. She borrowed a friends old Vaio about a year ago, which is now slow as a stoned snail. She's Cccleaned the bejaysus out of it (that was hard enough to get her to do) so its probably just clogged with crap! Defragmenting...is it worth doing it either?Tried to tell her about saving her stuff to an external hardrive but it'd be easier selling ice to eskimos.

Wondering is it just better for her to go the Netbook route and forget about a laptop!

These laptops wouldn't have the best battery life tbh. Well there's certainly better out there.

Forget the free anti-virus. I wouldn't touch it. No matter what it was.
    This is free and good:http://www.microsoft.com/en-ie/security_essentials/default.aspx

If the laptop she has is slow, do a reintall of the OS. Its the only certain way that it'll speed it up.
