Booked a holiday through low cost, And one of the girls names is spelt wrong on the flight booking form from her passport. Her passport is Millar and the booking form says Miller. Will it matter? I'm about to check in and need to know

I would imagine it does matter.

I got through from Dublin to London recently with my second name spelled incorrectly. Don't know if I was just lucky or not though.

Are you sure? And is there any way of changing it?

Of course there's a way of changing it, but it'll cost you quite a bit. Usually 100 euro but it varies from airline to airline.

Perhaps try to call Lowcost or your airline company and they'll have more info on it.

You may be okay, but then again noone can say for certain as it could vary from person to person working at the airport.

About two years ago I booked a flight for someone else as they had no credit card. They told me the spelling of the name by phone but I misheard it and they misheard me saying it back to them. Later I gave them the e-ticket printout and they told me the name was spelled wrong.
We phoned up expecting to be charged a fee to change the name, but the airline didn't charge anything to correct the spelling. It was a foreign name with just one letter wrong, very similar to the "a" and "e" mistake in your friend's name. It was a short haul flight with Aer Lingus.
    So you might be lucky.

Previous threads seem to indicate that even Ryanair will oblige and correct obvious spelling mistakes. Call the airline directly.

It's particularly important if your travelling to Spain as they gather advance passenger information so the passport number and passenger name should match to avoid complications.

Yep rang ryanair today and they changed the spelling mistake for €10, So not bad at all. Didn't feel like chancing it at all.

You can check in up to four hours before your flight.

    When do you travel?

I dont know why they charged you €10? I had this problem over the summer and when I phoned the lovely chap told me that you are allowed 2/3 letters free for typos and spelling mistakes anything more than that you have to pay name change. He changed the 1 letter spelling error without charge.

Which airline was that? Aer Lingus also corrected a name spelling free of charge for me.

I've heard of ryanair doing it for free as well so i was a bit surprised myself.

Another question to save starting a new thread, Will my AIB card work in gran canaria?? It has a maestro symbol on it.

I booked a flight for my husband with Ryanair,I used autofill to fill in all the address, phone details etc and failed to notice that mrs was there instead of mr.Unable to get through to anyone by phone or by e-mail I headed to the airport and I was told he would not be allowed to fly and ended up paying €70 to get mrs changed to mr.Expensive mistake.

It was Ryanair, it was just one letter difference a typo and I called first thing in the morning having booked the flights overnight. I don't think I'd chance going to the airport as I think anything they do for you in the airport costs big!
