They'll probably send you to the Joy for a week to get buggered.

    Nothing too serious.

I was going to abuse you for not paying your tax, then I thought no way, that won't be helpful at all.

Then I realised this is AH.

Why didn't you just pay your tax? I open my letters when they arrive, you should try it some time.

I haven't even bothered to read the first post but I definitley agree with the proposition that you should be sent to Mountjoy for a week of vigourous buggering

Wait till the rozzers call you to tell you that there's a warrant out for your arrest because you've been sentenced to 4 days for non-payment of fine, then tell them you'll be in to pay the next day.

    That's what I did.

They released Teresa Treacy to make room for you!

Write to them explaining that every month you put all your bills into a hat draw one out and pay it off. Tell them in your letter that if they start harassing you for payment you won't put their bill in the hat

Set yourself on fire op, that'll learn them.

I've heard people being let off if you tell him you sky suscrption was due and that Dominos special offer wasnt on that month so you had no income to pay it.

If you haven't already, you should get the tax sorted on your car. I'd also ring up whoever the fine is due to and ask if there is any way you can still pay it. I'd imagine you will still get a summons (although you never know) but having the tax and fine paid should stand for you in court and go a long way towards mitigating additional penalties.

Not a lawyer or anything, but it's what I'd do if I were in your shoes.

Thanks, its nice to hear a genuine comment! i got the tax sorted the week after i was pulled and went down the station today when i found the letter but the guard said once its gone by the 2 months theres nothing they can do and it automatically goes into a system thats sends out a summons,he did say theres a small chance i wont receive one at all but dont count on it.

Done a bit of research and looks like il get a 100 to 200 euro fine, which isnt that bad as the fine had already gone up to 120 euro because i had'nt paid it within the first 30 days of receiving the fine.I thought i was gona get a 500 euro fine or something so im not worried :D

That comment was posted from Mountjoy. He's just trying to lull you into a false sense of security so he can have his way with you later.

It's to late to pay it now. It has to go to court.

I suppose they can't prove he actually got the letter - but in the meanwhile off his own bat, he could say he eventually went and got it sorted!
Whats more he got it sorted well after the suppose letter went out and arrived at his home!
He look more guilty (of getting the letter) if he went out and got it sorted within a few days of it being posted and it arriving?

"Judge, I went out and got it sorted as soon as I managed to scrape the money together"

Go to court and try some of this Freeman nonsense I read about on boards.
I'm not sure how it works but I think you tell the judge you are a sovereign individual and you don't recognize the laws of Ireland. Though you still want the dole.....

The judge will get angry and start ranting as District Court judges do. They love a good rant
And you can report back here with a good story

No. Didn't work for me. The summons went to my old address for some reason and I was sentenced to the 4 days in my absence.

I'm sorry, was their some law passed today that prohibited folk for driving, all because they're unlucky enough to be out of work in the midst of a very deep, and global recession?

Must not have been sent that memo........

Dont open any more letters from now till the court day, bring them all with you as proof that you never open your mail....nothing like hard evidence in the court room.
