The height of ignorance !

Apologies if there is already a thread on this (if so please merge ?)

But I am on a Luas on the way home and just stopping at jervis there are very little seats available and I'm at the top of the tram.... I'm standing (I stand voluntarily regardless of amount of seats) and a gent and bitch standing next to me.

As we were pulling into jervis a lovely lady sitting down in front of me (she was well hot) got up out of her seat as she saw a heavily pregnant woman getting on the team... Lovily and decent thing to do ... Fair play to the lovely woman

But the ignorant bitch/cow ran for the seat (yes dashed) to the seat in front o the pregnant woman and put a bag on the inside seat and sat on the outside seat and refused to move.... She is currently giving dirty looks at everyone around the tram.

I mean wtf ? How poxy ignorant do you have to be for that... She only went 5 stops too where as the pregnant woman is still on the team going quite a bit further.

Ah friends have stories like these ?

Quite frankly I felt like throwing your ignorant cow through the window !

Was on a bus a while back and this skank was talking on her phone extremely loudly, laughing joking and half shouting. After she hung up she settled down for a bit of a rest (tired out after a long squak no doubt). Few minutes later an oldish woman in the seat opposite her got a call and spoke rather softly when answering it. The skank started tutting and eventually said "Do you mind?". Woman quickly finished her call.

The skank got quite a few looks but nobody said anything. I was all the way at the back but as much as I'd like to think had I of been closer I would have put her in her place I'm not sure I would have. Not that I would be afraid to have an altercation as such but with these stupid ignorant scummers you really cant tell if they are the kind to back off to get violent. And the last thing you want is to be attacked by some mental smelly tramp on a bus.

That's what they look for. You end up throwing a punch and have to give a cheque 3 months later for €500. It's all part of the scumbag ruse.

But you are like the majority of people all talk and no action. you are on here all tough words etc but done noting on the tram.
If I was giving my seat to someone I would make sure only the person I intended it for got it.

First they came for the communists,
    and I didn't speak out because I wasn't a communist.

Then they came for the trade unionists,
    and I didn't speak out because I wasn't a trade unionist.

Then they came for the Jews,
    and I didn't speak out because I wasn't a Jew.

    Then they came for me
and there was no one left to speak out for me.

I used to get on at jervis to go see my mam when I was heavily pregnant, I would often have to walk away as I simply wouldn't be let on, the times I was able to get on I was pushed and shoved and even on my 9day overdue I was shoved around. I'm Irish but the only people who have ever offered me their seat were foreign men and women. Never once an Irish person. I would often be in so much pain trying to hold on to the bar and avoid getting trampled on that I'd be standing there close to tears.

If you had the nerve, what you should have done was get up and offer your seat to a person that really needed it, if there was one.
Then go over to the seat with the bag on it, lift it up and sit down.
If she looked cross at you - then tell her to go stuff herself.

I'd be a old stubborn sod and try doing it.

But if I had a seat to give her I would've.

And I was half tempted to do that but it meant I would've had to physically touch her to do it. So I didn't wanna go there on that one. I would've had to scrap off her or whatever.

As long as people are happy to say nothing while it's happening and then run home to post on boards about incidents such as this then nothing is going to chance. If someone jumps in front of me in a queue then the I'll happily call them on it, happened in Xtavision awhile back when a bloke just walked to the top of the queue and went to get served ignoring the line of people. No one said anything but I wasn't having any of it and called him on it. The guy told me "mind my own business" and the guy serving him told me "what did it matter, he'd be done in a minute". Mattered a great deal to me and I told him that as I'd be there to buy a new PS3 and some games he had lost a 300 euro sale in favour of an ignorant twat who was renting one film.

Perhaps I've been watching too much Larry David but as far as I'm concerned if you don't say something when it's happening you can't complain later on.

He was already standing. I think I in that situation (someone taking a pregnant woman’s seat) may have said something.

If I did decide to say something however I wouldnt know how far to go with it. If I said "get up you ignorant cnut" and she tells me to fcuk myself (which is the most likely scenario) what else do ya do ? If she is brazen enough to take the seat and not give a shít then how far does she have to be pushed before she will back down ? Short of assaulting her to remove her from the seat she's staying put. In which case an evil eye has the exact same affect as telling her she's a cnut.

I suppose if she did get some abuse and didnt move she might not be too quick to do it again. Then again these scummers will either lack the intelligence to realise she shouldnt be doing it or be so ignorant as to not care one way or the other aslong as she's sorted.

    Aye, the options are limited.
The most one could do would be to say something.
Say it loud and possibly embarrass the hell out of her.
Letting such people get away with such crap without ANY possible consequences, just gives them full licence to do a repeat performance later again.
Say something at least and maybe they might think twice next time - we could only hope...
