    Paddy Power/Red C opinion poll:
(change from Sunday Business Post poll from Sept 30 in brackets)
    Michael D Higgins 25 (+7)
    Sean Gallagher 21 (+10)
    Martin McGuinness 16 (unch)
    David Norris 14 (-7)
    Gay Mitchell 10 (-3)
    Mary Davis 9 (-4)
    Dana Rosemary Scallon 5 (-1)

Interestingly, the person getting most of the FF vote is Higgins, with Gallagher in second and Davis a close third.

Long, long way to go yet. Closets are being opened and skeletons dusted down as we speak and theres more digging for dirt going on since the height of the construction boom. We shall hear about it in time.

I reckon Independent News are going to go hell for leather for their preferred candidate Mary Davis, failing that Mitchell.

FG are now on a serious damage limitation exercise, anything below 3rd in 1st preferences would be bad, but Mitchell is currently in 5th or 6th place which is a disaster. If you think the last week was dirty wait till Phil Hogan et al get going in the next few days.

It'll be fun to a neutral like myself.

Sean Gallagher not exactly out of it . Probably be better than any of the politicians would .

Mitchell should pull out...there is no way back now. I wish I was going to be here to vote.
Looks like the sane class are flooding to Gallagher
I bet that Pat Cox is kicking himself he didn't go the nomination route that the other 4 independents went. FG sucked him in and then shafted him.

A much over rated politician who leaks budgets ahead of time, throws mud at Martin McGuinness and it sticks to Gay Mitchell. He talked about McGuinness frightening away multinationals when all Phil is doing is frightening away FG voters.

fg davis and norris shafted themselves, dana was never in the running, perhaps if she ran under her own name she may have had a small squeek, politics has changed forever in this country, the people have spoken on several occasions, the politicans and snouts wish to cling to the past, not move with the times, or look to the future.
