Quick question about AIB internet banking transferring money?

I'm nearly there in the steps to transfer money from my AIB account to my paypal account but this page came up http://i56.tinypic.com/ie1jqv.jpg and I don't know what that first question means. It asks "Do you wish to make this payment using? A NSC and account number or A SWIFT Address/BIC and IBAN" To be honest, I have absolutely no idea what that means or which one I am meant to click. Any help?

Also to avoid any more confusion can I just go into AIB bank tomorrow and transfer the money to my paypal account there? Because it's kind of important I do it soon and I'm looking to transfer a large ish amount of money so I'm nervous about doing it online now in case I do it incorrectly.

Apologies if this thread asking a similar question has already been created but I searched and couldn't find one

Shouldnt you do it the other way round? Transfer money from your AIB account into your paypal account while logged into paypal. Thats how I do it with a credit card anyway.

If look at the AIB website, it'll display prominently a telephone number. This is specific for customers of the bank, they'll be delighted to assist you.

howamidifferent, That is what I'm doing I think. I'm going to the "Transfer money" option from my AIB internet banking account so I'm trying to transfer money into my paypal account from my AIB account.

snubbleste, Yes actually I didn't think of that I think I will just give them a call.

You don't transfer money from a credit card into Paypal. Credit cards are used to fund a payment in Paypal. Transferring cash into your Paypal account is a completely different situation.

I don't use AIB, but I think you may be doing something very wrong here. It says you need a card reader to complete the process. I don't think that should be the case for regular bank transfers. You need to add Paypal as a recipient on your AIB Internet banking, you can then send payments to them. You need to have the your Paypal details ready, this includes a unique transfer ID that is used to identify you.

You cannot make this payment in a bank branch, as banks do not allow you to lodge money into other banks from within the branch.

jor el, Yea I did need to use my card reader before that page came up I had to put my card and pin into it etc then after that step that page n the picture came up. I tried to add paypal as a recipient before but I didn't know how to do it but Ill try it again. I have al my paypal details anyway I'm just stuck on how to actually add money into my paypal account because I don't have a credit card so this is the only way I can add money to it

Check with AIB as to how to add them, or how to do the transfer properly, would be the best bet. If it's a large amount and it goes missing, it could take several weeks to get back.

I have done this from AIB to Paypal.

You have to get the sort code and account number of your paypal account from paypal.

Then you need the code card (or card reader) for your AIB account.

Then you set up payee, as you have done above.

You enter the sort code and account no for paypal.

Then put in the code asked for from you code card.

From now on you can just transfer money when every you want, it takes about 24 hrs to show up in paypal.

Click NSC, its the sort code that you see on the top up account section on paypal. Think it something like 990061. Also dont forget to enter the transfer id into the box 'message to appear on receiver statement ' so paypal know its your paypal account the money is to go into. Once you make the transfer, the details of the account are stored on your aib internet , so you can just click the same account in future to make a payment. It took about 3 days for the money to transfer for me.
