    Hey,

Just wondering if anyone knows anything about this site www.robovac.ie

They are selling Roomba 581 for a good bit cheaper than planet3 or irobot themselves. Can't find any info about them and not sure if they're legit or not. The site gives an address in Wicklow but no phone number.

    What do you think?

Looks a bit dodgy to me. If they were legit I'd imagine they'd go to more pains to include better contact details and company info.

Even if they are ok to buy from I wouldn't have confidence that they'll be there in a years time if you have issues with your vac. All of your consumer rights are with the retailer not than the manufacturer so it's always worth checking out the effort online companies put into creating a web presence so you know they're invested in it for the long haul. Where a manufacturers warranty may last a year your consumer rights can be enforced for a much longer period if you run into trouble. If the retailer is no longer in business you are sunk.

Interesting that the company is based in Wicklow and a new member, coincidently named Brayzer, uses his/her first post to advertise said company.

Edit: To be fair though, the prices seem to be massively cheaper than everywhere else (€150 cheaper than iRobot themselves). That probably makes me more suspicious than anything.

    Hmmm. Interesting.

It's a pity. I would love to buy one of these for my mum.

Yeah I phoned the Wicklow Enterprise Centre and they said the unit was empty for 6 months until recently. Rang the new tenants but they never heard of "robot hoovers".

robovac.ie must be dodgy or out of business.

And I have nothing to do with with Wicklow or robovac btw, just looking for a cheap Roomba!

And with that, members of Bargain Alerts have now learnt not to judge a book, or RoboVac enthusiast, by it's cover!
