Hi I'm returning to the hills for a bit of walking, I haven't been up there in about 7-8years!! I use to hit the hills 3-4 times a month when I was younger,

Just a quick question? what is the best way to get to Crone Woods car park driving from North Dublin? back years ago I use to get the shop river bus from bray and road walk to knockree and then onto the hills. But now I have a car.

    thanks TRW

    M50
    M11
    Enniskerry exit
Left at monument in Enniskerry out the Powerscourt road
Keep on that road for a couple of kms until you pass a coach company and take the right turn signposted for Powerscourt waterfall
Follow road to waterfall entrance and about 1-2kms past that is the Crone wood carpark.

Be careful IIRC they lock the carpark quite early

Or, follow N11 til Kilmacanogue. Take sliproad left and overpass across N11 and follow signs for Enniskerry. Aprox half way there you can turn at a junction left and follow the signs for Powerscourt waterfall, avoiding that entrance and along the road a further 2k or so you'll see the entrance for Crone.

You obviously don't stop at the spar in Enniskerry for your ham and cheese roll :D:D

Crone Woods has a really bad reputation for car break ins so be careful folks and dont leave any valuables in the car.
