    Not an easy one!!!!

If you choose to drive, you are looking at either heading in via Donnybrook, Merrion Road or Sandymount into Dublin 2 and across the Canal. Once in the city itself, due to no left turn at Nassau Street and the College Green bus gate the only practical route is to head onto Pearse Street, Tara Street and O'Connell Street bridge or possibly over Butt Bridge onto Gardiner Street and Parnell Street or Beckett Bridge and the quays to either the aforementioned bridges or onto Seville Place and Portland Row and onto Summerhill Parade and onto Parnell Street. As an alternative, you could cross the East Link and head onto the quays or Seville Place that way but it will mean tolls.

Getting home is marginally easier; get onto the quays either at Capel Street or the Customs House and you can access Sam beckett Bridge via the quays or onto Townsend Street/Westland Row and via your preferred corridor out of the city. There is no cars allowed onto O'Connell Street at the Parnell Sq junction; it is rarely policed so you can chance it if you like :)

If you can, consider either the 145 from Kilmanogue or the Dart into the city and walk from Aston Quay or Tara Street across to Parnell Square as it may be less hassle and stress in the long run.

I'd east link it to Blackrock (down Capel St onto Quays or down Marlborough Street onto Quays) then head up to the N11 either before Blackrock village or up Newtownpark Avenue, the former would be quicker.
