I know this has been asked loads before but couldn't see any up to date threads! My current plans are:

    1. Drive up and look for car space along the quays... will be coming from N4... is this viable on a thursday evening? How much is parking along the keys... I estimate i'd be in dublin at about half 6....

    2. Drive to Houston station and get luas from there.... car park is 24 hours and €1.50 per hour

    3. Drive to red cow and get luas from there.... This is a bit out of my way coming from N4....

Does it take ages to get luas from point after a concert? Would i be better walking to conolly to get the luas from there?

    Any advice appreciate!

    Thanks

I've never had a problem getting a Luas after a concert - they always have several of them stacked up and waiting to go. As long as you have a return ticket, you should be queueing for no more than a few minutes.

One thing you want to be VERY careful of is that when coming from the N4 to the Red Cow Luas parking depot,
you want to make sure its an off peak time (leaving Dublin along the N7) because coming from the M50 Southbound onto the N7 Westbound, the sliproad takes you onto the N7 on the "inside" i.e. right hand side lane, while the turn off for the Luas is on the left hand side lane.

You would have to cross 5 lanes of traffic in a very short time, and it may be impossible to do this safely if there's any kind of traffic.

Or never mind the M50. Come off the N4 at liffey valley & head south to newlands cross, left onto the N7 & take the turn off for the Park & Ride from there.

THanks for the help guys. The worst traffic I experienced was approaching heuston station, so I was considering leaving the car there at that point... but didn't see any clear signs for the carpark so kept going! (I assume i should have taken the left towards Island bridge or something?) traffic lightened up soon after along the keys so parked in the IFSC car park... wasn't too bad. I was just worried traffic would be bad on a Thursday evening with shopping and all... Lived in Dublin for 6 years but got around by bike... so not used to driving around the city so was just looking for an easy option!

Can't say Bob Dylan was worth the trip though, glad I won the tickets!
