The car rig mor is an excellent stove, the only advice I can is to not skimp on install costs. The best thing about Boru is they are Irish. I got mine for €1,100

Both are good stoves, no problem with either

Boru stoves are two years old and as such have no proven record, so far so good though from what I can see.
Why do we associate Irish Made with quality, would you buy a washing machine, computer or car made in a big shed in Tipperary by a 2 year old company?
Where did they get stove building experience from if they are the first to build in Ireland? What if the ass literally falls out of the stove after 3 years?
There selling like hotcakes though, so like the property boom everyone cant be wrong (or can they? :D)

@ilookforthings. Please forgive me for butting in here but would you mind telling me who supplied your stove for that price. I have been researching them and most of the distributors advertising them have them up as P.O.A and frankly that makes me smell a rat. We urgently need to sort the heating out.Times are a little tight but I could live with €1100. Was that 2nd hand or new?
    Thanks a million.

If it was myself choosing it would be none of them. I'm not keen on the Boru carraig moor door, it looks very thin. I think the door cheapens the look of the stove. I went on the website and it was only formed in 2008. I clicked the about us link and he was saying about the quality of their products but didn't mention to what quality they were tested to.

If I was buying a boiler stove I would buy Clearview 650/750, or Woodwarm fireview range. Both companys are well proven and I like the fact that if the wraparound boiler leaks on both of these makes then it can be replaced seperately without having to scrap the stove. A very good idea that none of the other makes do.
Clearview in the UK are considered a premium rolls royce of a stove and have a very loyal customer base.

In most instances though budget does come into it. We have a £740 villager berkley boiler stove with 26,000btu boiler which is really a budget UK made boiler stove. It does the job, but the above would make mincemeat out of it for quality and function. They would both be more airtight and totally controllable and so use less fuel and so save money.

There is a £300 price difference for the same output woodwarm boiler stove enigma 8 freestanding with 25,000btu boiler as our villager berkley.

If I was replacing the villager I would spend the 300 extra to get a better made stove where the air seals are much better, the airwash keeps the glass clear totally and the quality is much improved.

It would be woodwarm for my next stove:D

    Thank you for your feedback.

Did Boru come to help you?
Do you or other Boru owners have good or bad feedback to offer?
    Was there a chimney problem?

Right now I've got a decision to make about a stove that is a High kW stove.

My choices are between Boru, Yola and Henley. I need to bite the bullet with regards to decision.

We got in a Carraig Mór 20kW boiler stove about 2 months ago now. Very happy with it. The rads start warming up in about half an hour, taking maybe an hour to get hot enough to make a difference.

I'm finally getting used to how to vent it properly and figuring out that automatic air control thing.

Only thing I would say, is that when opening the door to refuel, open it slowly, as otherwise it seems to cause a sort of vacuum and you get a small cloud of smoke out into the room.

We got a new stove in, Hunter hearld No8 my cousin has the no.14 there both excellent stoves. We had an old Stanley Moran No8 for years... made in waterford it was a credit to great workmanship... unlike there new ones made in China.

I replaced a Stanley Reginald with the new Pierce Glas 18, have 16 above standard rads and heats them no problem with a reload time of 4hrs, the output is 16kw on timber only and 19kw on timber and coal, Only in few months but cant find fault in it yet, people have to remember that with most stoves on sale at present the output that's displayed on the stove is virtually impossible to get unless your burning industrial anthracite, Pierce stoves have cleverly not put kw behind there 18,14,12,6.5 range as they reach these figures are the nominal output and not max

Boru are an Irish company but nearly all the stoves for sale in Ireland are made in China or Eastern Europe. Stanley and Henley are made in the same factory for God sake. They all use low quality casts and materials, the sort of stuff Stanley would have put in the scrap heap when they were making the stoves themselves. If you want quality get a Stovax, they're an English company with German manufacturing.
